A memory behind the music
The first year of UCLA is when I met so many people, that's when I met John. That's when I met Francie, because she was friends with John. Its when I met Dean and Chris, my future roommates. It was also when I spent a few hours hanging out at the super typical undergrad type event, Dance Marathon. It was designed as a 24 dance marathon fundraiser for a wide variety of charities. You'd register to dance, and then for every hour you danced sponsors would donate money to the charities you wanted to sponsor. I wasn't great at doing that kind of fundraising thing so I just paid to go for a few hours and hang out with others that were really aiming to dance for as long as they possibly could. And this song wasn't the kind of song that popular people danced to back then, but I wish it was because I thought it was pretty danceable.
