A memory behind the music
I had a rather weird period just after visiting Japan in 2013/2014 new years. I was really in to that brief period of Japanese/Korean Jazz pop and from what I could tell this was one of the really big bands as part of that movement. I listened to this entire album for a couple years onwards. It was fun. It was funky. It even had Verbal from M-Flo in it. And it felt a little bit romantic like all of my favorite M-Flo songs. Something that gave me hope that dating in San Francisco would eventually turn out successful. That being silly enough to roll down the big hill in Alamo Square would convince someone to like me and go along with my silliness. That didn't happen back in that time period. And I don't think anyone i dated shared my love for this odd Jazz pop movement. I'm not even sure I even really like it anymore but its fun to look back and laugh a bit.
