A memory behind the music
One of the things my University Buddhist Association friends and I would do almost annual was go down to Escondido, near San Diego, in fact right near to where I used to live, and stay at a Thai Buddhist temple overnight to take part in the annual ceremony for giving monks new robes. We'd drive down Friday night through traffic, show up in the evening, drink some soup and eat some chocolate, then sleep on the floors outside in the quiet avocado orchards. Then wake up bright in the morning and help setup food booths. Then the true ceremony would start. Monks would walk down a big line and receive little bits of food donations from all the Thai people in the neighborhood and we'd give the monks new robes and the monks would splash blessed water on us. Then we'd all eat a bunch of thai food from vendors giving away their food. Why does this French song remind me of this? Because the last time I did this was when Dan kind of hated me after we broke up the first time around. And that was when i super loved this song.
