A memory behind the music
Through all of 2016 and 2017 this was my get off the plane song. As soon as the plane landed, i got all my two bags for the flight, and stood up to start leaving the plane I'd put this on with my headphones and blast the song. Something about it made me feel really good and excited to finish a flight. It worked for both starting a trip and ending a trip. But it especially felt great when finally coming home after days or weeks and getting onto the Tokyo trains to make my way back to Shimokita. I could listen to this on repeat as I'd take the train to shinagawa from Haneda, or the Shibuya Express from Narita to Shibuya. The entire time looking at the country side or the waterside and waiting for my transfer to get back to my quiet little awkward bed in a living room.
