The Crane Wife 3

I remember hating this band when everyone else loved it. Jay, Josh, Nick, Tim, so many of my Simi Valley friends loved this band. Felt they were very sophisticated, along with a few other related bands that had the same sound. But I just really didn't like them. Something about them felt snooty. I also wanted to rebel because parts of me were still trying to accept the fact that I didn't really have a home like all my other friends. I was still staying in Jay's spare room during those holidays. I still had to live in a student coop in my last quarter because all my college friends had graduated a in the summer of 2007 while I had one more class to take. So i needed somewhere to live just until i started working at Google for my 9 month internship. So i lived in the pretty crappy student coop where things were cheap but I had to do trash duties and had to wash the shared bathrooms. And other students did the cooking for the cafeteria and no one was good at cooking, not good at all. And yet all my friends just loved this high brow band. They got live in their parents houses while I was floating around, figuring out how to make a home of my own.
