Walking

The Dodos was one of the bands I'd found myself in the last year of UCLA. One of the songs I'd listen to as I was taking my last quarter of classes. That was the quarter I'd learned about Computational Linguistics. I was taking a programming languages course, where we had to learn something like 6 languages in one quarter and in that class was this cute girl that was a fencer. She'd always show up in class and just sleep through everything and was always a bit lost. But somewhere along the lines I got the courage to talk with her and I learned she wasn't a computer science student, she was a computational linguist who had to learn programming as part of the program. Nothing ever worked out with her, but I did discover linguistics and that set me on the journey i followed for Grad School.
