A memory behind the music
While i was living in San Diego, my friend Viet came up to visit for a weekend. I think he slept on the couch, i'm not entirely sure. But what i do remember is going to UC San Diego's student commune and seeing RX Bandits. This was a band we were big fans of as it was a pretty good hip Ska band that also had a bit of a nerd core bend to it. And I'm pretty sure me and Viet were the only two non university students at that fun little show. It was fully of granola hippie kids. Kids that were vegans. Kids that would protest just about anything. Kids that admired communist governments and anarchist non-governments. And they'd invited this very southern california political pop ska band to play for them. It was pretty fun. In fact, it was a lot of fun. It almost made me want to go to UC San Diego so I could do it more.
