Man And Wife, The Latter (Damaged Goods)

Desaparecidos

The Story

A memory behind the music

Tim really loved this song. Tim really loved Bright Eyes (Connor Oberst) who started this side band. So we'd listen to this a lot when I was living behind Tim's couch near San Diego. I'm pretty sure I went to see Bright Eyes live with Tim. But this song, and really this band, was good for when i was mad. Not mad at a person, but more mad at life. Mad that I had to work from 11pm to 6am. Mad that life put me in a situation where I was sleeping behind a couch. Mad that I could barely keep my sad old broken car working. Mad that aside from Tim, i felt pretty alone and without any friends. I could put this song on in my tiny gray Integra and drive around a bit. Walk through a boring mall and window shop for things I never wanted. I could go to Soup Plantation and be so amazingly dissapointed that they only had four kinds of soup and only one was vegetarian. One of my Target co-workers would comment that I listened to such angry angsty music. But I think I had a lot to be angry about. Its amazing I was able to sorta keep it from infecting how I treated other people. Instead I could just listen to Desaparecidos and be angry.

🎵 Made with love
